Printing. Smarter. Feature: Katie, the Bride To Be

Today’s Printing. Smarter. post features Bride To Be, Ms. Katie Sayler. A self-described DIYer, cat-lover, renaissance enthusiast (yes, there are costumes, but that is a whole different post) and all around funny girl; Katie brings some serious style and flair to making her wedding amazing. She has graciously invited us into her Minneapolis home to share with us a few of the ways she is printing smarter, bring a great sense of skill to an often manic process! Thanks, Katie! ~ Jocelyn J.

For the do-most-of-it-yourself brides, wedding planning means lists, lists, and more lists, with a few spreadsheets thrown in for good measure. Add to it endless poured-over vows, readings, toasts, and oh, yea, some more lists. Managing a dynamic wedding can get out of control quickly.

Katie shares “When we first got engaged, I was overwhelmed with ideas that I was pulling from magazines and printing off of my favorite blogs and design sites. I knew I needed a better management tool than my desk drawer.” And with that, she set out to create the best wedding binder ever… And here, she shows us exactly how she did it.

She started by taking a simple 3 ring binder, added a few business card sheets, pocket folder sheets, some card stock for pinning magazine clippings to, but perhaps some of the greatest additions were her awesome lists – each of which, we’ve got right here for download!

As anyone who has ever planned events knows, invitations can be a huge expense. There are online templates to use for a low cost, but those don’t look custom, and seldom fit the exact theme and mood of your party plans. Hiring a designer or using a custom print shop can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. By going with aprintablepress.com, Katie could customize all the printable stationery for her wedding and download print-ready files for a low flat fee. And best of all, she was able to print all the pieces on her home printer using the paper stock of her choice!
