Review & Giveaway: Photo Cube Printer
The VuPoint Photo Cube printer is a small compact printer and charging station. Use the app to set up 4”x6” photos on the fly, then dock, view and print - no computer required! Made for iPod touch (2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation), iPhone (4S, 4, 3GS and 3G), iPad (1st and 2nd generation), and also works with Android (OS 2.0 and above).
What We Love:
The design. This is the most adorable printer we have gotten our hands on. It delivers fun, quick images straight from your smartphone, no computer required - small enough to travel; it can be set up anywhere you can plug it in.
The print quality. This little thermal printer packs a sharp punch when it comes to delivering high quality images.
The Photo Cube! app. This free app gives us the ability to setup our pics into one of three collage options - it is wildly addictive!
What We Don’t:
If you are a snap happy Instagram user like us, the images are shot in a 1:1 ratio - while the photo cube prints out traditional 3:4, leaving the image cropped. With the popularity of 1:1 ratio, we imagine there will be a Photo Cube! app update to accommodate a 1:1 frame soon.
The cost per print may seem a bit high compared to online print order sites - but we have never actually printed pics taken with our phones on these sites - so the cost per print became less of an issue based on convenience.
It’s a little noisy - but after the first print, we were so in love all we heard was cherubs singing.
Bottom Line:
Buy this. If you have a compatible smartphone or tablet that you use to take pics - this is the simplest and easiest to use printer we have found.
How we’re using it:
Trips to Grandma’s house. We have already warned our Grandmas that they will need a second fridge for all the pics that will be printed during the next family gathering. (I’m personally looking forward to replacing that one of me dressed like Debbie Gibson when I was 5)
Weddings! For Katie’s wedding (see "Related Articles" at the bottom of page), we are going to replace the disposable cameras at each table idea with a few well placed photo cubes and cork boards to share the party as it happens!
Making our office space more colorful! Printing off tiny 1x2 photos to create fun file folder and drawer labels.

I have had my phone for a couple of years and probably have about 70 pictures on it but I have never been able to figure how to print them. There are some really important pictures on there of my kids as they have been growing up that would break my heart if they were gone. If I could print them right away there would be no fear of that.

I have 334 photos on my iPhone as of today. I take photos of projects that need to be taken care of in our galleries. Then I email the photo to myself, download the pix into Photoshop, and print them out [sigh]. THEN I can start my work on them.
I only have 2. The rest are on my Server or captured in my wife's multitude of scrapbooks. I probvably actually print only about 5% of the ones we take. The best of the rest are in the electronic picture frames as slide shows.

My old phone had over 500 picutres on it, some transferrred onto it via micro sd card but the majority taken with the phone. I used to print via my bluetooth printer but my new phone won't connect to my old printer. I'm going a bit bonkers not being able to print the pix I take! This printer looks like it just may be the solution to my frustrations, plus it would let me print all those cute grandchild pictures my daughter sends me from her Iphone.
