Maryville, Mo. — Tired of paying the high price of a new ink cartridge for his home computer, about a year ago Matt Gaarder began researching refilling his empty ink canisters.
Once he discovered the many things that could go wrong with do-it-yourself ink cartridge refilling, he stumbled upon Rapid Refill, a print solutions superstore based out of Minneapolis, Minn. Rapid Refill offered franchise opportunities that Gaarder and his wife Sherry just couldn't pass up.
A year after getting involved, the Gaarders open the doors to their business location in Maryville on Monday. The family owned and operated ink solution store is located at 1111 S. Main St. near Hy-Vee.
"In the past, the remanufactured ink cartridge business has been shaky and it made people nervous," Gaarder said. "Things have changed now and Rapid Refill has a six-step process to insure that the cartridges aren't just refilled but are clean and damage free..."
